We’ve got lots going on this Christmas at the Kings Arms Community Pub.
If you fancy Christmas Dinner with a view, we’ve got a special Christmas menu. Available through December. Call to book.
The Quiz is now weekly every Wednesday at 7pm.
On Sunday 3rd we’ll be holding the annual Christmas Starts Here event, with gingerbread man decorating, traditional tree decorations crafting, Christmas puzzles for the kids and if all goes to plan a visit from Father Christmas so the children can make sure he knows what they want for Christmas… This event starts at 3.30pm running to 7pm, to tie-in with the turning on of the village Christmas Tree opposite the Post Office at 5.30pm, then back to the pub for minced pies and mulled wine.
The monthly Village Lunch has been a big draw throughout the year and December sees the final lunch of the year with the Christmas Village Lunch on 7th December at 1pm. As ever, this will be an affordable two course lunch and a great chance to meet old and new friends. Please get in touch with Ralph Clark if you are interested: ralph.clark@kingsarmsatstrete.co.uk
On Wednesday 20th there’s the Big Xmas Quiz at 7pm, a quiz run by Jon, all about Christmas..
On Thursday 21st the pub is hosting a Celebration of Christmas featuring carols poems and music with Choirmaster and MC Ken Wood leading the communal singing.
This year, the pub will be opening Christmas Day lunchtime 12-3pm for the traditional drink before heading home for the Kings Speech and your Christmas dinners. Boxing day opening is still tbc.
In that twilight zone between Christmas and New Year the pub will be open throughout, with the Big Quiz of the Year at 7pm on the 27th.
On New Year’s Eve Jon will be hosting the KA NYE Party. The theme is Pop Stars. There will be a disco, hopefully live music and a buffet, and prizes for the best fancy dress pop star. We’ll have a mini New Years Countdown at 9pm for kids and the Big Ben Countdown at midnight. It’s free entry and it’s going to be lots of fun.
The pub will then be closed 1st & 2nd January, back open on the 3rd.
Don’t forget, every Friday until Christmas sees the popular Friday Night Lucky Number Draw and lively crowd in the bar. The rules are simple. You have your number, it belongs to you. The prize is a £50 KA voucher. But you have to be in the pub to win, otherwise it is a Rollover.
